Heya, Everyone! wow, three religous posts in a row. But that's okay, here's a simple political post. The President, aka Mr. George Bush sent more judicial nominees to be looked over for the Supreme court position recently. As some would have guessed, all of them are republicans.

The Judicial branch is the part of government that surmises the supreme court. It settles major disputes that threaten to divide our nation: such as Roe vs. Wade. The way it works is that Judges are apointed to the supreme court by the president. These judges then can either accept of decline the position. Accepting the position means that they will get a hefty income for the rest of thier lives, Status and privelege, and ,of course, a direct hand in the fate of our nation. Obviously, this is not something to be taken lightly, as Judges cannot be impeached.

The democrats are stalling with the fillibuster technique. When there are forty votes opposing the new judge, it is called fillibuster, and the nominee does not get the job. Lot's of technicalities isn't there.

It doesn't seem like bush is thinking clearly about which judges he should appoint. Although, it is clear what he is trying to do. Y'see, the whole point of the supreme court is that it can overule the president on matters that are unconstitutional. If the president appoints judges that don't care about the constitution, then we have a problem.

On a completely unrelated note, the U.S. is entering a time when a lot of stuff is not covered by the constitution. For example: Illegal copying and distributing of music over the internet, perhaps? Or maybe cloning? We might be destined for deep shit.

Well, whoever becomes the next judge, keep in mind that they will only be human, and humans make mistakes. I hope and pray that God will see us through.

And END RANT!

That was pretty cool, I guess. Next time I'll do some other stuff and...yeah...

Heya, everyone. Just a quick post today. Sorry if you wanted more. I'll post some political stuff tomorrow...Okies!

Hey, regarding the christianic view to violence, we are supposed to turn the other cheek and supposedly let people walk all over us, at least that's what a heck of a lot of people think. I would like to point out that while christianity is indeed a "peacefull" religion, we are still responsible for standing up for ourselves and making sure some power crazed dictator doesn't try to commit total genocide and set himself up as god. *cough*Hitler*cough*.

The problem that many christians face is that if there is a dictator out there in the world trying to off everyone who doesn't like him, should we do anything about it? I know this is a touchy subject, but the truth is, while god help us, something must be done about it. If someone tries to jump you and crack your skull open, you may not like it, but you have to defend yourself. This is the real world.

Fortunately, This is the REAL world... and when you believe, god WILL provide a way out. That's probably even harder to believe than killing someone who is going to kill you or someone else. But trust him, he'll help.

OK! end rant!

Next time I will do some political stuff I promise! (T-T)

Hello. Again.
Yeah, liberal christian here...updating my post again...yeah...

When Jesus was on earth a long time ago and carriying out his ministry, he took upon him twelve disciples and at the height of his ministry, created the sacrament of the Eucharist. That is, transforming the bread and wine into his Body and Blood.

A lot of people I know don't like the Eucharist. They are BORED TO HELL WITH IT! I know what that's like. When I recieved my holy communion, I was just there because my parents wanted me to. Although, I was excited by the wine...

Anyways, think about it: Can the son of god TRULY transfer his grace and salvation to you by eating bread?! Wine?! WTF?! Of course, I just believed whatever the people of my parish told me and didn't give it a second thought. But after a time, when I began to question my faith, It occurred to me that I didn't really know how the Eucharist could be administered. Why would god make us eat bread if he was god and he could just give us saving grace?

Well, Think about the free will that god has given each of us. God loves us and wants us to come to him in everlasting love and such. However, he wants each of us to come to that decision on our own. If god just made us love him, it would be empty love. If we come to love him by our own will, then that is truly, true love.

The sacrament of the Eucharist is a way for us to come forward and tell god, "I'm ready to recieve you."

"Ask, and you shall recieve."-Jesus.

So if that is a way for god to give us his holy grace, can't we just ask god to give it to us? Surely he'll give us his grace just as we would the Eucharist would. Yes! He does! When we ask god to give us his everlasting grace, He really will deliver! I remember plenty of times when I was on the verge of "Sinning" and I just came clean:

"God, I'm really weak and I know that. I'm nothing without you. I need your grace right now to stop 'Sinning' Please help me." Almost instantly, a weight was lifted off of my shoulders. He helped me then, he'll help you now.

The reason we need the Eucharist, however, is because we, as a species, generally learn by what we can sense. See,feel, hear, taste...

Think about the bible. The pharisees were always asking for "a sign, so that we may know if you are the messiah or not." They needed a sign to believe. The sacrament of the Eucharist is a way of seeing, tasting, feeling in our mouths the power of god at work.

I'm not trying to convert anyone, this is my blog though... But I understand that it's pretty hard to think of the Eucharist that way. When we figure something out, but it's fundamentally different from all of our beliefs, It's really hard to let go. A lot of people reading this think it's bullshit. I don't blame you. There is a lot of bullshit in the church. Just think of the selling of salvation by the Catholic church in the middle ages.

Still, even the church is constituted of it's human followers. And even human followers make mistakes. I have made so many mistakes in my life, and I hate it.

So, In conclusion, The Eucharist is a sacrament that reveals the power of god and provides us with his holy grace. One should remember, however, that if god supplies the grace, It is up to us to take it. If thier is sin on your heart, or evil in your soul, Then god's grace cannot enter it. That really sucks. I hope all of you reading this don't have evil in your hearts.

Well that's it. Thanks for reading. I should have some political stuff up here soon. Oh yeah: Random Link: bodhisattva.no-ip.org

Heyo, everyone!
I was reading an article in the westside sol, and I found it quite interesting...
The article was celebrating the fact that all people who were born in the 40's 50's, and 60's are still alive today. Specifically, how did those people stay alive? As babies, they were put in lead based painted cribs. They didn't have cell phones or any adult supervision either. Kids played in the street! They ate Raw Cookie dough! They staged fights to impress thier girlfriends, and then got over the pain! There were no lawsuits, yet the people of those era's are still alive. The Article was celebrating that fact, I guess...

But what amuses me, is the fact that those same people are the ones who have made it so that the new generation is completely denied those freedoms. Nobody fights anymore, except rarely, and everybody sues.

Humph. I guess It's like that...Generation's ideals switch from generation to generation. But that's okay, I mean, do kids even want to play out side anymore? Of course not. Thay have playstation, and X-box. Nice.

On a completely unrelated topic, The American Revolution was a HOAX! Just kidding.

The continental divide. Namely, that idea that the United States of America are deeply divided around two polarizations which are The Republicans and the Democrats. The difference between the two is supposed to be simple. Married couples who regularly attend church and have kids under 17 are overwhelmingly Republican, while all those single or less attendant churchgoers; The intellectuals and offbeats, are Supposed to be overwhelmingly Democratic. Or so the article said.

The truth is that there are moderates from all over, but when there are only two choices to choose from and both are from opposite extremes, what else can the country do but become divided?

So, ja...that's the rant for today, sorry I couldn't make it more interesting but I didn't have much on my mind. If you are a newcomer to this site, PLEASE, I BEG YOU...Read the other Posts. You'll find those much more interesting.

End RAnt! Later everyone,

Hey 'yall! The weather over here in San Antonio has been a little unusual lately. I mean, in San Antonio, you can count on sunny, bright, crisp days that are actually quite refreshing. Yet, lately it's been overcast and rainy. Strange, I mean we don't get much rain down here, but then again, I guess it is winter, y'know?

Bush's plans to privatize social security are pretty amusing. I do believe that the whole point of Social Security is for the people who are retired to get a check by the government so that they can live their lives and stuff. Although, it's not a bad Idea...Maybe it IS time for a change in social security. After all, more people than ever are retired and are in need of life insurance. Plus, thanks to medical science, people are living longer than ever before!

I just find a few problem's with bush's plan. For example: Not that many people have the luxury of being able to stock money away for social security, either because they are too poor or are... too poor. The people who have those high paying jobs and that are able to afford privatized S.S. Don't really need it. Shouldn't they be putting that money away anyway's? We don't need a government program telling us to save money.

However, the people who need social security the most are the people who are too poor to save money. They need that paycheck to pay the bills! One can see the obvious flaw in bush's plans.

Social security is the problem that needs another genius to solve. It's not an easy question. Bush doesn't have the answers, heck, I don't have the answers. But somewhere, there are answers; We need to find them.

And END RANT!
That was good. I think social security is an important issue. Umm...
On a completely unrelated topic, I found a website by the name of:
"www.vgcats.com" I think it's pretty funny, hehehe... go check it out.
